Welcome to Mass Birds. We are a private parrot and finch breeding hobby complex. Mass Birds is located in north west Victoria at the base of the Macedon ranges. Here at Mass Birds we have been breeding parrots and finches for 25 years. We try to keep as large variety of parrots and finches as possible; however this gets hard due to having limited space.

At Mass Birds we currently run 40 parrot aviaries and 10 large planted finch aviaries. We try to use an all natural environment for all our birds.

All birds are fed as many different varieties of fresh foods as we can offer from seeding grass, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds. Most importantly, fresh water is offered every day.

Our finch aviaries are all self reared finches (no foster birds are used at all). During breeding season finches are given maggots, meal worms and fruit fly only. During winter the finch aviaries are boarded up to stop wind and draughts getting in as we get many frost and even snow in our area. We try to keep at least 2 pairs of every bird, preferably 3 so we can guarantee unrelated blood and pairs. With our finches we try to keep at least 4-5 pairs for this same reason.

The system we use here at Mass Birds is a great one - it’s called the K.I.S.S. system - keep it simple stupid.
